Our Story of Hope

History of Pacific Hope Christian School

Since our origins in 1979 we have been empowering the educational journey of students with learning disabilities.

Hope in the Making

In 1979 John and Robyn Odell were searching for a school which could accommodate the learning difficulties of their son. Unable to find an adequate solution, John, Robyn and other families took the initiative to establish a school for students who needed learning support. They pioneered a school that was based on Biblical values, a nurturing community and tailored teaching materials to support the students.

The school included mainstream students learning in community alongside the students with disabilities. This model became the prototype for the group of “Hope Schools”. Pacific Hope Christian School was established to serve the Tweed Heads region and Southern Gold Coast region.
